I joined Herbert Smith in August 2000 as a corporate associate - initially attracted by the opportunity to work with the corporate division on ground-breaking deals.  During the interview process I was also impressed by the friendly atmosphere and the high calibre of the people I met, factors that made me even keener to move here.

Herbert Smith lawyers are, as a matter of course, technically excellent. However, they are also highly tuned to clients' needs and aren’t afraid of using imaginative and innovative methods to get the right result. Everyone is encouraged to be the best they can be and to constantly take on new challenges.

After three years as an associate, I took on my own new challenge as a professional support lawyer, because I wanted to be involved with analysing new legislation and market developments. This change in direction gives me the opportunity to comment on proposed new law and it is rewarding seeing my work incorporated into corporate regulation with the knowledge that it will be enshrined in the law for many years to come.

Herbert Smith has given me the chance to work with highly motivated and dynamic individuals, which makes coming into work every day a pleasure. Many of the people I work with will be both colleagues and friends for a long time to come.
