I studied the LLB and LLM in Sydney, with an exchange in London, before qualifying in the UK in 1999. Since then I have worked both in private practice, at top law firms, and in-house, for a leading telecommunications company. I joined Herbert Smith in January 2007, attracted by the high standard of work, impressive clients and great people. 

My career highlight to date is being involved in India's largest ever M&A. When Vodafone bought into India we acted for another bidder who then became Vodafone's joint venture partner – and we still act for them today. At least half of my work is international, mostly pan-European or Indian, which gives me an opportunity for some short-term travel.

From the outside, I think Herbert Smith is seen as a full-service international firm excelling at complex corporate and dispute resolution work. The firm is client and business driven, with a focus on excellence and innovation. The work is cutting-edge and there is always something new and exciting to do. It is also a very inclusive firm, with a collegiate atmosphere, whereby associates are often involved in the early stages of each qualified lawyer interview process.  The people here are brilliant, interesting and genuinely nice.
