I studied at St John Payne Comprehensive, Chelmsford, where I took eight GCSEs and sat A Levels in Geography and Law

In March 2000 I joined Herbert Smith after spending eight years at a small law firm, I wanted the chance to work in a large international firm as the next step in my career. Herbert Smith is a well-established law firm with a good reputation and deals with many different aspects of law.

I also knew people who worked here and they recommended it as a great place to work and as an employee I can definitely vouch for that: the firm is hard working and professional yet extremely enjoyable to be a part of. The biggest impact on me when I started was how welcome everybody made me feel.

Training and development is available and encouraged, providing the chance to excel and gain promotions if you work hard. This is certainly true for me, when I joined Herbert Smith I started as a cashier in a large team and within the first year I was promoted to team supervisor. I was promoted again a couple of years later to become the banking and payments team manager.
