I took an ILEX diploma at North West Kent College and joined Herbert Smith straight afterwards on the Trainee Secretarial Scheme in August 2005.

I had heard that HS had a good reputation and was a company that many people wanted to work for. A recruitment team also came to the college and did a presentation, which provided some really useful information about the company.

Making group administrator recently was really satisfying, as I had been covering the role for a while. I was also pleased when I was asked to work for the group head, which I am still doing.

Herbert Smith has an excellent reputation in the market. I know a lot of college leavers who have taken the ILEX Diploma would like the chance to go on the Trainee Secretarial Scheme.

There’s a good working environment here, and I like the fact that there are opportunities to be involved in different committees and discussion groups. We all work hard but there are plenty of social events going on, like the Christmas party.

Herbert Smith is a great company to work for, not only are the financial benefits good, but if you want to progress in your career, you will be given all the support, training and encouragement you need.
